Achievements, Ruin Rankings and the Legal Pages

28 July 2026

Five delving achievements have been added and nine early achievements now pay less Gold, so the reward is weighted towards things you have to actually go and do. Every ruin now has its own leaderboard on the delve completion screen.

The privacy policy, terms of use and community guidelines are now live and linked from the footer, the sign-in screen and the rename prompt.

Achievements

Gold is the game's only paid currency, so achievement Gold is deliberately finite. This pass moves it away from things you do in your first five minutes and towards things that take a delve.

  • new
    NEW:Five ruin delving achievements

Ruin Delver for returning from a delve with rewards, then Deep Delver, Ruinseeker, Depthwarden and Master of the Deep for completing the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th level of a ruin and returning with the rewards. They pay 5, 10, 20, 35 and 50 Gold, and they sit in a new Delving category.

  • reduced
Nine early achievements pay less Gold
WasNamed Adventurer 10, City Founder 10, Clay Master 10, Town Hall VI 10, Town Hall VII 15, Town Hall VIII 20, Town Hall IX 25, Ambassador 15, Haggler's Debut 10.
NowNamed Adventurer 5, City Founder 5, Clay Master 5, Town Hall VI 5, Town Hall VII 5, Town Hall VIII 10, Town Hall IX 15, Ambassador 5, Haggler's Debut 5.

That is 65 Gold less across the nine. With the 120 Gold the five delving achievements add, the total Gold earnable from achievements is 55 higher than before, not lower.

Free cosmetics now unlock through play

The second and third free nameplate and banner were all gated on Town Hall level, which meant four different rewards for doing one thing. Three of them now ask for something else.

  • reworked
    Leather nameplate
    WasTown Hall level 8.
NowRaise an envoy to Cultural Influence level 10.
  • reworked
    Peasant's Flag banner
    WasTown Hall level 7.
    NowAssign your first citizen.
  • reworked
    Triangle Tangle banner
    WasTown Hall level 9.
NowInvestigate a wonder that a player discovered.
  • reduced
    Parchment nameplate
    WasTown Hall level 6.
    NowTown Hall level 8.

It moves up to fill the gap the Leather nameplate left behind.

  • improved
Locked cosmetics say what unlocks them

Condition-gated cosmetics used to be hidden entirely. They are now shown with their condition named, so an unlock is something you can aim at.

Ruin rankings

  • new
NEW:Every ruin has its own leaderboard

The delve completion screen now shows how your run compares against every other player who has delved that specific ruin, ranked by the deepest floor reached. Ties are broken by who got there first.

Attention badges

  • improved
Empire and Map badges stay visible on their own page
WasThe badge disappeared as soon as you opened the page it pointed at, so you lost the count of what was still waiting.
NowIt stays, and tapping it cycles to the next city ready to collect or the next envoy waiting on you.

Names and reporting

  • new
    NEW:Report an inappropriate envoy name

The control sits in the expanded envoy row, next to the name it refers to. It does not appear on your own envoys.

  • improved
A removed name can be fixed from where you see it
WasAn envoy whose name was removed showed a blank, with no route to renaming it.
NowThe row offers the rename directly, and the inbox message explaining the removal links to the naming guidelines.

Reading the world map

A batch of corrections to what the map draws, all of which were making routes harder to read than the underlying journey actually was.

  • improved
    Route arrows
WasAn arrow on every tile of the route, at full size, anchored to the tile rather than the direction of travel.
NowArrows only at the ends of a route, 25% smaller, running from the tile centre to the edge the route actually crosses.
  • improved
The whole travel overlay is coloured by route

It was painted green regardless of which journey it belonged to, so two planned routes were indistinguishable.

  • improved
Tiles are named by their own terrain

A tile could be labelled with a neighbour's terrain.

  • improved
Scouting markers are icons, not text

The text labels covered the map. Markers are now plated icons, and a wonder's title takes the click when the two overlap.

Hotel rest

  • improved
Every extra hour of a stay is worth something
WasThe rest ladder had flat stretches where a longer stay bought the same rank.
NowThe tiers interleave, so a longer stay always lands on at least as good a rank, and the Cultural Influence per hour curve is higher across the board.

On the delve screen

  • improved
The continue button names the depth
    Was"Continue Deeper".
    Now"Continue to Depth 4".
  • improved
Accumulated rewards collapse to the last three depths

With a show-all toggle. A long delve pushed the buttons off the screen.

  • improved
Time estimates are rounded to the minute

Exploration and delving now read as a coarse range, "38 - 52 minutes", rather than a false-precision figure.

Fixes

  • "Create Trade Route" refuses a route from a city to itself.
  • Scouting observations are never placed on a city tile.
  • Travel reports no longer carry the traveler's note field.

It was free text on a report nobody else could read.

  • Collection results merge gains that name the same resource.

One collection could list wood twice instead of once with the total.

  • "Create Trade Route" is hidden at the envoy's own home city.
  • Paying the doctor to halve recovery acknowledges the payment immediately.
  • Every page has its own browser tab title.
  • The moderation report control no longer appears on your own envoy row.
