Ruins on the Map, and One Envoy Picker
8 August 2026
Ruins are now clickable on the world map and open the same kind of action menu wonders do, with rankings and your own envoys' history at that ruin behind tabs. A ruin nobody has named reads as its terrain, for example "Swamp Ruins", instead of inventing a label on each screen separately.
Travel had three separate envoy pickers that disagreed about which envoys were available. There is now one, it sits on the confirmation panel, and a trip can be started from the destination rather than only from the envoy.
Ruins on the map
- newNEW:Ruins are clickable and open an action menu
The same treatment wonders already had. Previously a ruin was something you could see but only reach through the Nearby list.
- newNEW:A tabbed ruin drawer
Rankings for that ruin, and the history of your own envoys who have delved it, which was not visible anywhere before.
- reworkedAn unnamed ruin is named for its terrainWasEach screen built its own label for a ruin nobody had named, so the same ruin could read differently in two places. Now"Swamp Ruins", "Mountain Ruins", served by the game itself and used everywhere, until a player clears it and names it.
- newNEW:The discovered ruins list shows names and a delver count
How many distinct players have delved a ruin, which is the closest thing to knowing whether one is worth your time.
Choosing an envoy
- reworkedOne envoy pickerWasThree separate pickers, each deciding availability its own way, so the same envoy could be selectable in one and greyed out in another.NowOne picker, on the travel confirmation panel, and it makes no requests of its own.
- newNEW:A trip can start from the destination
Pick where you want to go, then pick who goes. Previously the envoy always had to be chosen first.
- improvedDispatch is gated on everything an envoy is occupied by
It checked the envoy's displayed status, which did not cover every occupation, so an envoy could be sent on a journey it was not free for.
Terrain your envoy cannot enter
- improvedRoutes are planned around impassable terrainWasA route could be planned straight through terrain a debuff blocked, and only failed when the envoy set off.NowThe route goes around it where a way exists.
- improvedBlocked terrain reads "Impassable"Was"Undiscovered", which is a different thing and sent players exploring towards it.Now"Impassable".
- improvedTerrain debuffs are checked against the whole route
They were checked against the destination, so a route passing through blocked terrain was allowed as long as it ended somewhere legal.
Fixes
- The centre of the map reads as Foundation terrain.
The founding plot's terrain was being rolled from the map noise rather than taken from the foundation itself, so the middle of the world could read as Swamp.
- A failed request gives you one clean sentence.
Server errors were being passed through to the screen verbatim, which was both unreadable and more than a player should be shown.
- Collecting no longer fails under load.
Two collections landing at once could abort each other.
- The cleared-ruin screen stops offering actions that cannot be taken.
- The delve summary names the ruin the same way every other screen does.
- The market resource picker no longer crashes the page on a deselect.
- The Confirm Claim button stays inside its box on a phone.
- A long ruin name truncates instead of pushing its row out of shape.
