Player Profiles, Envoy Profiles, Map Performance Improvements & Balance Changes
22 October 2026
This is the biggest update since the game launched and includes a whole bunch of different things I've been working on concurrently.
Firstly, there are now profile pages for players and envoys! These profile pages give all sorts of info that wasn't previously available (or was scattered all around the game) and shows you the chronicle of that player's successes, discoveries, and progress. On the envoy side it gives you an overview of an envoy's skill build, equipped cosmetics, and various statistics. You can dive into a player's progress in different areas of the game such as Wonders, Delving, Lore, and Exploration and if you link any of these pages to someone (for example in the Nandonia Discord) then it will render a nice preview image for that content also.
On the map performance side I've made very significant improvements to loading and rendering speeds so you should see quick map loads with smooth panning at a good framerate now (double the framerate!). Some players were previously having game freezes and crashes on the map which these changes have now resolved.
On the balance side, I've taken aim at a lot of outliers that were overperforming, most notably the speed and effectiveness of Auto-Explore which was functioning more like power than convenience, and the Socialite skill branch which was significantly overperforming due to its large stacking bonuses. At the same time I've improved a bunch of skills that were underperforming to bring them more in line with others and make them look more enticing to learn, most notably the Financier skill branch now pays significantly more Cultural Influence where before it paid barely any and hence it was hard for those envoys to progress by performing the actions the branch was encouraging them to take.

Empire Auto-Explore (new art)
Envoy Auto-Explore
Bought for one envoy at a time, in the Merchant's Hall, from the Auto-Explore card on the envoy's page, or with the Unlock button beside a locked envoy in the Auto-Explore settings panel. Each Envoy Auto-Explore you buy takes 350 gold off Empire Auto-Explore.
- WasAuto-Explore, 4,000 goldNowEmpire Auto-Explore, 5,000 gold, less 350 for each Envoy Auto-Explore you already own, never below 350
It covers every envoy you have and every envoy you recruit. Players who already own it keep it under its new name. It has its own card art, the explorers at the map board; Envoy Auto-Explore takes the single explorer's card.
Player and envoy pages
"The Chronicle of" a player opens with four figures (Empire Score, Culture, Cities and Envoys), then their Best City, their most Impressive Envoy and their achievements, a chip for every leaderboard they are on, and four boxes for Wonders, Delving, Lore and Exploration. Every figure opens its detail. It shows game progress only: never resources, gold, diamonds or anything bought, and the achievements that would reveal a purchase are never listed, though they still count in the totals. The info line says when they started playing and when they were last active, to the day. The page has a Report name button, as the Cities and Envoys tabs now do.

Before: a player's page was a list of their cities, with nothing about who they are
After: Shamwizard's Chronicle, their standings, best city, leading envoy and records at a glance Achievements: the total, the three most recent, and a tile per category with its cards. Standings: an Overall Top % across every board, how many boards they are ranked on and lead, and a track on every board from last place to first; a board they are not on says how to get on it, and a board opens its full table on their row, ringed. Wonders: a card for every discovered wonder with their finds, investigations and milestones. Delves: every ruin in the world with the floors they have cleared, the ruins they named, and each ruin's name opening the map on it. Lore: fragments by rarity, chapters, story choices, study and where their lore was found. Explorations: what exploring turned up, the lore it found by rarity, and the wonders and ruins they discovered. Each page names their leading envoys. Shared on Discord or elsewhere, each page has its own preview card with its headline figures.

The Delves page: every ruin a player has cleared, floor by floor, and their leading envoys
The Explorations page: what exploring turned up, lore by rarity, leading envoys and ruins discovered The large portrait leads, with the envoy's name, title, home city, level, range, Cultural Influence, status and where they are, and a Go to Envoy button that opens the map on them. Appearance shows their skin, title and envoy nameplate; a visitor can follow each one to where it is sold in the Merchant's Hall, with its price, or to the achievement that awards it. Below come the skill trees they have invested in, with every tree one tap away, their roles (the paths they have committed to), their buffs, debuffs and standing effects, which visitors can now see too, and Over a lifetime: players met, cities visited, ruins delved, tiles explored and more. On your own envoy the page is also where you run them: Auto-Explore, The Steward, Rename, Diamond Boosts and Rush, your cultural bonds (only you see these), and unspent skill points as the same blue pill the envoy list shows. A newly created envoy's tutorial lands on their page.

Before: an envoy was a row that expanded in the envoy list with a lot of text and some of the least important information taking up most of the screen
After: Uncle Bramble's own page, with appearance, skill trees, role, effects and lifetime record Each slot on your envoy's page has a Change button. Skins show the envoy wearing the one you pick; titles say which envoy wears each one and list the titles still to earn, with your progress and a link to how; nameplates are shown on a map tile exactly as the map draws them. Anything you do not own is listed with its price, and Buy and wear buys it and puts it on in one step, charging once however the window is closed.

Choosing a skin, previewed before you wear it
Choosing a title from the ones your envoy has earned
The envoy nameplate window shows the frame as it looks on the map Everything the expanded row held is on the envoy's page. Another player's envoy list now uses the same rows, with nothing of the owner's on them.
A tree with no points is faded. A tree's card names the path it went down and what that path does, or says no path is chosen yet, and a click opens that tree on the envoy's page. The effects slot shows a debuff if the envoy has one, otherwise their rarest buff, with the number of distinct effects, and opens a card listing every buff and debuff with its effect, time left and where it came from. On a phone the six slots form one row under the envoy's figures. The envoy list is now as wide as My Empire and starts as close under the menu.

Before: skill points as a pill, and nothing about each envoy's skills or effects
After: all five skill trees with their points, and the effects slot, lined up on every row A title gets its own line, so a long name keeps the first.
The header carries their nameplate, the Playing since line and the Profile, Cities and Envoys tabs. Previous and Next walk their cities by City Score and their envoys by Cultural Influence, highest first, in the order their tabs list them, and keep that order while you step through.

A player's cities, under the same header with Profile, Cities and Envoys tabs - improved: The player's name in a profile header now opens their profile, from their Cities, Envoys and other profile pages and from their city and envoy pages
- improved: Your own city page now has Previous beside Next, and your envoy's page has the same Previous / Next buttons
You see your own page there, and anyone you send the link to sees your public one. The menu's Empire and Envoys tabs go there, and the old /empire and /envoys addresses forward to them. City pages keep their addresses.
Before, it read only "At ruin".
The envoy's row no longer expands. "Visitor Bonuses (2)" appears on it only when the envoy offers something, and its card gives each bonus's figure and the skill and rank it comes from.

Another player's city: their header, the envoy's location, and the Visitor Bonuses card - new: City page: a city's coordinates now open it on the map with its menu open
The filter is kept in the page's address, so a filtered list can be shared. An envoy's Title slot links to the achievements that award titles.
Map
Before, the map moved an uneven number of frames behind a drag, standing still for some frames and jumping two steps in others. The glide stops within half a second, and a tap while it glides stops it where it is. The map never moves faster than 3,000 pixels a second, so a very fast drag no longer tears. Reduced motion turns the glide off.
A zoom used to draw one frame far off-centre before settling. Pinches and jumps to a place stay immediate.
Measured on a busy world: the work in each frame while panning fell from about 27 ms to about 6 ms, and the work while the map loads from 3 seconds to about 1.2. Terrain edges, city names and badges are drawn once and kept until they change, and the plot grid's dashes no longer creep while you pan.

Measured on a fixed copy of the live world, before and after Seeing a city of a new tier for the first time used to stall a frame while its art was unpacked.
Every route used to be redrawn once a second while any envoy travelled.
- improved: A map left open for hours no longer slowly takes up more of your device's memory
The menu opens once any arrival or discovery screen is closed. The envoy tracker's arrival and exploration cards do the same.
- WasA click on an envoy's marker, nameplate or tracker row could go straight to the Embassy, a School, a Hotel or a wonder's pageNowIt opens the envoy's menu, and the button that goes there is in it
Investigation, Decoding and Read Results are new menu buttons for wonder work, and Complete Learning reaches a finished lesson an envoy in residence had no way to open from the menu. The marker, nameplate and tracker row now all do the same thing.
Claim, Complete Learning, Complete Lecture and Read Results sit at the top. A greyed-out action such as "Already explored" used to fade to the point it could not be read over the map; both columns of actions now match in width.
- improved: Cultural Landmark card: "Guests" now says it counts each different envoy who has visited, and the host's bonuses are a bulleted list under "Bonuses for visitors"
It used to count the nameplate's bar steps as "0 of 4 parts".

WasNo daily limitNow20 explorations per envoy per dayAuto-explore was exploring about 45 tiles per envoy a day, against about 17 for the busiest players exploring by hand. It is meant to save clicks, not to outpace playing yourself. One charge is used when auto-explore starts an exploration, and the walk to the tile is part of it. Exploring by hand and The Steward never count. At 0 the envoy finishes any exploration under way, then stops auto-exploring until the reset, and you can still explore with them by hand. A counter such as 14/20 shows on your envoy list, in the Auto-Explore settings panel and on the envoy's page while auto-explore is on, and its card says when it resets, in your own time.
A counterweight to exploring on and on without stopping at a city. Arriving at any city clears it, yours or another player's, and so does Emergency Recall. Journeys to a city are never slowed, so the way back is never longer. Only explorations count, not delves or wonder visits, and it never pushes a journey past the 24 hour limit. It shows among your envoy's effects as, for example, "Road-weary, 10 stacks" with what the stacks add up to, and travel estimates include it.

Every matured stake also pays your envoy Cultural Influence, more for longer and larger stakes, and gives the city you backed a share. Only the growth varies: it is rolled when you collect.

Every matured stake also pays your envoy Cultural Influence, more for longer and larger stakes, and gives the city you backed a share. Only the growth varies: it is rolled when you collect.Early on, a flat return on a small stake was worth less than spending the same resources on upgrades, and Seed paid no Cultural Influence without the capstone. Growth at rank 2, by term (1 / 3 / 7 days): +40% / +120% / +300% on the first 2,500 wood-equivalent, +20% / +60% / +160% on the next 22,500, and +10% / +30% / +80% above 25,000; rank 1 is half of each. The brackets count all of your envoy's running Seed stakes together, so splitting a stake gains nothing. Stone counts 1.25 wood, clay 2.5 and metal 10. The rate is fixed when you place the stake, and a stake rolled over with Reinvestment is priced again at its new size. Cultural Influence on collecting (or rolling over): 100 / 330 / 770 by term, in full from a 30,000 wood-equivalent stake and less below it, for example 15 / 50 / 116 for 2,400. The city you backed earns a quarter of your envoy's Cultural Influence as City Influence and 10% of the stake's growth in the staked resource, made new rather than taken from you, and its owner is told. Stakes with a linked account's city pay no share. Stakes running now keep their rate and pay the new Cultural Influence when collected. The Seed card on the Invest screen says who gets what for the stake you are looking at.

- Buff and debuff rarity pills were all drawn in Common grey; they now take their rarity's colour
- The Invest screen kept the home city's stored resources from when it opened; it now follows them live
- Collecting a Venture Fund or a sponsorship left the resource bar showing the old amounts until a reload
- The header's diamonds did not update after starting a Venture Fund, a building upgrade, a merge or a diamond transfer

- Opening a Hotel or School from a link to one envoy's row scrolled back to the top of the page; it now scrolls to that row
- The skill tree tutorial said "Your School teaches" at another player's School; it now says "Every School teaches"
- On iPhones a mastery choice needed two taps to select; one is enough
